I spent the whole weekend in my garden, painting the fences, painting my pots, weeding and planting. All in an effort to make it a more enjoyable place to sit during the Summer months.

I love all the pretty pastels in the above pics, especially the pastel bunting which is made from triangles of plywood painted in Cuprinol Garden Shades paint. You can read more about them here. I so need to make these, perhaps adding some polka dots to them!

This year I also need to repaint my garden shed due to general wear and tear and, after seeing these pics, I am considering painting it in a lighter colour.

2. Friendship birds
3. 'GARDEN' sign
4. Seashore collection lanterns
5. Fleur trough
6. Villa Verne metal planter set

This week in my new series of posts, "Fridays Finds", I bring you a collection of pretty finds for the garden inspired by Monday's post, pretty relaxed garden. I am so in love with the cream parasol but as we already have a blue parasol for our alfresco dining table I just can't justify getting one... yet!!!!

Don't forget you can click on any blue lettering in any of my posts to link through to the relevant store website or blog post for more info!

Last Friday in my new series of posts, "Friday Finds", I shared with you some of my whimsical kitchen ideas for around my new sink area. Having started to go through all my interior magazine tears in an effort to organize myself, I thought I would share with you today some of my favorite images for sink areas.

My absolute favourite image is the first one. I would love to put a pretty print tray behind my sink, but as we have a window directly behind it, unfortunately there's no chance! But there is room for an indoor plant and perhaps some herbs.

The weather here in the UK is beautifully sunny and hot so I have been spending more and more time in my garden. I wish it was as pretty as the ones above! I love all the white with touches of yellow and green in the patterns on the soft furnishings. It all looks so calm, sophisticated and pretty. Oh, and that parasol is divine!

My whimsical kitchen ideas

Whimsical sink area ideas by Torie Jayne

1. My laundry room ideas
2. Bunny dish rack
3. Nigella Lawson blue salt pig
4. Butterfly mug
5. Pretty cleaning cloths
6. Maxwell & Williams H20 bottle in aqua

I start my new series of posts, "Fridays Finds", with whimsical ideas for the sink area in my new Kitchen.

I have decided to go for a white ceramic sink, to go along with oak wood worktops, white brick tiles, white door and drawer fronts, and one or two walls painted in duck egg blue.

To add interest, and to keep it fun and fresh, I love the idea of a whimsical-looking sink area. Behind the white ceramic sink is a window so I will go for objects that can sit on the window sill and around the sink area; perhaps a blue salt pig to keep my pretty cleaning cloths in, my butterfly mug to hold cleaning brushes in and a cute bunny dish rack on the draining board. For my washing up liquid I would like to get the pretty H2O bottle above with a chrome bottle pourer in the top.

Garden shed!

I love vintage tin signs, like my Marilyn one. I have a few dotted around the house and in my garden. They evoke nostalgia in me and I love the humour in them, like my 'Honest Otto' one hanging on my shed door. I am coveting the Fab-licious one this Summer! It reminds me of my happy childhood holidays on the south coast of England.

Roberts Radio RD60 DAB Digital Radio in Duck Egg

Ever noticed how some of the best dressed kitchens have Roberts radios in them? I have. I couldn't believe it when I looked into Roberts radios and found that they have just launched new Spring colours; among them is the gorgeous duck egg blue! It is also the first eco-friendly retro style digital radio they have produced, with a battery life of around 120 hours. As you know, duck egg blue is going to be the highlight colour in my new kitchen so I couldn't resist ordering one for the window sill.

Mirror mirror on the wall

Multi-faceted mirror by Graham and Green

Recently, I have been going through my magazine tears for kitchen ideas and came across the top image. I adore it! Sadly, we don't have room for a dresser in our house but if we did I would have that one. I love the square marks on the mirror - so distressed and vintage but oh, so glamorous!

For a modern glamorous kitchen you could try mirror wall tiles and for a modern but decadent dressing table, how about the multi-faceted mirror.

I love pretty storage jars, so in my new kitchen I am going to treat myself to some blue Nigella Lawson jars to sit on the side to hold my sugar and tea bags.

In my baking ingredients cupboard I am going to add pink! For my birthday, I got given a pink Nigella Lawson jar in which I am going to keep my gluten-free flour, and some of my other baking ingredients in the adorable flip storage jars from Jamie Oliver.

One of my favorite Spring 2010 collections was from D&G. I loved all the broderie anglaise skirts, punched suede dresses and fringing. So I am of course loving all the dashes of lace found on so many interior products this Spring. It is so romantic, feminine and tactile.
