Rice DK Autumn/Winter 2009

The Rice DK Autumn/Winter 2009 catalogue is now up on their website and is full of beautiful images like those above. Danish designer house Rice DK "specializes in fair trade homewares with a great strong design and social ethic. Rice is fair trade certified to SA8000 and works closely with the communities that produce and manufacture its products."

I just love the fabric picture frames on the pink fridge and I so want to get their pale pink rolling pin in the last pic to match my kitchen baking utensils.

Available in the UK from Nettle Green.

Vintage vacations

All images above from Vintage Vacations

I recently saw gorgeous pics of Airstream travel trailers on the adorable Slices of Beauty blog so I wanted to share with you Vintage Vacations, a great campsite in the Isle of Wight where you can stay in imported Airstreams. They are decked out 50's style with floral prints, crochet blankets, and old games like tiddlywinks and dominoes. They have ten of the vintage travel trailers in total, from the 40's, 50's and 60's.

My favorite is the 1965 'Tradewind' in the first pic.

Thanks sweeties!

A few days ago I received the Spread the love Award from the sweet Bella at Beauty Does Matter and am honored that she chose me. I would like to pass it onto two blogs: the first is Knock Knocking who, among other things, makes the most beautiful wreaths to hang in your home. The second is a blog I recently found called Flower Patch farmgirl. She has the most beautiful taste and I especially love her garden pics.

Her Grace The Duchess of Tea, has appointed me as an Honorary Noble of the Most Excellent Order of the Blog Empire! I just love the badge with the sparkly crown on the aqua background. Check her out at Rose Tea cottage!

Steady Sticks

Peg bucket

Linen apron

Glass cleaner

Soaking bucket

Dust pan and brush

Wicker basket

Kitchen scrap bucket

Mini flour sifter

Whilst writing my post on my laundry room ideas I came across the adorable Steady Sticks. They do the prettiest kitchen, laundry and baking items in pale pink, pale blue, white, taupe and red. They have so many gorgeous items that I felt I should dedicate a whole post to them.

My Laundry room ideas

I recently saw a fantastic post by The bottom of the ironing basket with great laundry pics, which got me thinking about our downstairs bathroom that we are going to turn into a laundry room. These are a few of the items I want to put in the laundry room when finished. What I really like about them is they don't have to be hidden away in cupboards.

• Housekeepers tin bought from Restoration Hardware about 5 years ago! They don't do them anymore but John Lewis has a similar one. For the prettiest white, pale blue, pale pink or taupe Housekeepers box go to Steady Sticks Australia available at Crate & Barrel
• Duster, grout brush, and cleaning fluid from Martha Stewart at Macy's
• Large cleaning fluid from Restoration Hardware
• All other items as below

• Grapefruit ginger linen spray, room spray, vacuum balls, and pink brush from Restoration Hardware

• Pale blue sponge from Restoration Hardware
• Pale aqua sponge and microfibre cloth from Macy's
• Floral dusters from Cath Kidston
• Aqua check cloth available everywhere!
• Pink cloth from Doktor Power

• First Aid tin from Franksy Kitchenware

• Ironing board from Ikea
• Ironing board cover from Cath Kidston

• Laundry basket from BHS

I bought my Laundry powder box at the same time as the Housekeepers box from Restoration Hardware, but sadly they don't sell them anymore. John Lewis does a nice cream version or try Steady Sticks Australia.

Lemonade stand award

I have won my first award! Given to me by the adorable Federica at Sweet as a Candy, you must check out her blog for the most gorgeous, stylish pics of all things wonderful.

I started my blog on the March 10th this year after being asked lots of questions on Flickr about where I got things from. I have enjoyed every second of blogging and have met so many adorable, charming, talented people. I want to thank you all for dropping by, posting sweet comments and becoming a friend. I hope you will continue this great journey with me.

I would like to pass this award to:

• Think outside the box, who makes the cutest felt goods, for her wonderful encouraging comments on Flickr
• HappySimpleLife, from the gorgeous Laurel who spreads sunshine with her creativity and thoughts.
• DustJacket Attic, who has the most divine pictures and for her sweet words
• Brunch at Saks, who has the most exquisite style and for the sweetest comments
• Freudian Slips Vintage for the best vintage style and for her encouragement and help
